I remembered how bad I wanted these back in the day, I mean who didn’t want a shoe with pockets? Being as i just moved, I’ve been spending a lot of time looking for suitable furniture. My favorites overall have been the tufted leather club chairs I have seen from Four Hands furniture. In a dark, weathered leather, these handcrafted with seven stages of staining, sealing and buffing giving it that authentic aged and weathered distressed look. Upholstered seating you would find in an upscale smoking club in Tribeca, or an ultra chic Southbeach Miami nightclub, these individually tacked nail heads create the tufts in the leather which have been antiqued with linseed oil and talc require 8-14 hours to create the finish. A huge fan. A black v-neck sweater, whether merino wool, cashmere, or a blend- but it must be slim fitting! I saw it pulled off very gracefully and beautifully on a somewhat recent episode of Mad Men and I have been hooked ever since. The key pivotal ingredient is the white button collar dress shirt and a nice pair of patterned black and white or grey slacks. It also works well with a black and white gingham shirt (i have one in mind, and in my closet, from Shipley and Halmos) or some other patterned shirt and solid slacks. Is it really the best of both worlds? I have always been a fan of cap-toes, and perforated dress shoes are making quite the statement today- so what of the combination? I personally am a fan. They also exue all the other great traits of a well made shoe: Handmade, Italian leather, leather soles and heel, and the detailed stitching and design.
