Always on the lookout for a quality slim leather wallet/card holder, this unique design caught my eye and I’ve fallen for it bigtime. Probably one of my favorite accessories (besides a timepiece, or dare I say it- watch), is the wallet. My style began with a sweet florescent Velcro tri-fold from when I was 13 and needed somewhere to hold the $26 from my first paycheck. Then in High School, it was a leather tri-fold with a huge photo-album style insert for pictures. Over time I increased the need for slots, pockets and folds to carry my life in, even developing the notorious ‘fat-wallet’ pattern on the rear-pocket of my jeans. Then I discovered another way (only slightly guided by

I’ve always been a tech geek at heart. Combined with my love of clean design, style, and quality, finding intelligently designed computer hardware (outside of Apple and sometimes Sony) can be quite difficult. LG has brought that function-meets-fabulous to their 34 inch UltraWide WQHD IPS Curved LED Monitor (34UC97-S if you must know the model number). It’s got a slight curve and crushes my previous two or three stacked monitors in every way. With features for- The Designer: sRGB over 99% color space and IPS’s accurate color expression Device Hoarder: Dual Linkup feature – two compatible portable devices can be viewed on the same screen simultaneously. The Gamer: Uhh, wrap around view anyone? 3+ monitors should do it. And forget
As you may have noticed, I gravitate towards the classically styled and well designed. One such item that performs flawlessly in this arena is the Tivoli Model One by Tivoli Audio. It brings me my news in the morning as I pour my espresso, through the dependable FM radio waves in incredible clarity and depth. It is subtle and timeless, yet performs boldly. I went for the Bluetooth model so I would be able to stream through my phone, although the real delight comes from tuning the FM radio. Micro tuning is what this baby does best, and I am able to dial it in perfect for just about any station I am in the mood for. Deep bass notes,
Know who is at your door without being there. A brilliant concept, especially in today’s remote connected world where you can unlock a door, turn a light on, or trigger a trap door. Peeple has addressed the is anyone home problem by creating the answering machine of in-person visits. A tiny camera takes a photo through your peep hole and sends it to your smart phone via wifi. It can be triggered by events such as a door knock, doorbell, or the opening or closing of the door. A great and simple product, makes me wonder if it will soon be available in video format soon as well. There are great security implications, or it can be integrated into your
I’m always on the lookout for a better way to slim down on things I carry in my pocket (hence my interest in Coin to slim my wallet), and now a sweet product to address my bulky key ring. Keysmart has come up with a simple yet ingenious idea of organizing your keys in a Swiss army style stacking arrangement. The simple, clean design keeps your keys slim and organized without adding hardly any more bulk or weight. [ad name=”STIL-Medrec”] I’ve been using it for about a month now and couldn’t be happier. The solid aluminum construction (or sleek titanium) looks great, my keys slide out effortlessly, and I can add or remove keys at my leisure. Now I just
I’ve been trying to bring a minimalist simplicity I enjoy in other parts of my life to my wallet for years now. It evolved from the tri-fold wallet, to the bi-fold, then to the card wallet. I’ve toyed with the idea of a simplistic money clip, but I’ve never been able to fit all of my cards in there. I mean, you have your ATM card, 2 credit cards (one Visa, one Amex), drivers license, health insurance card, transit card, not to mention the actual cash needed in the city. That is may paired-down list too! Gym membership card, car insurance card, business credit card, starbucks card… you get the idea. Coin takes care of all of this with it’s
I’ve been into the upright standing workstations lately, but most of these office furniture designs leave a bit to be desired. Given the health benefits of standing over sitting all day, I think it is something I could really get into. I already have a cheap standing desk, but if I had my way (and didn’t work at a non-profit) I would opt for the Locus Workstation by Focal. Not only is it a wonderful design allowing one to stand, lean or sit, it’s just pretty! Of course there are plenty of accessories to gussy up your office workstation and really bling it out if so inclined. So if you are at a chic startup, architecture or design firm, I
I just upgraded to an iPhone 5 and love the slim, light feel, however, it seems so delicate! If I was to drop it, I’m sure I would hate the outcome, but all of the iPhone cases out there are horrible! Either they completely cover up the beautifully engineered lines of the phone, or are practically pointless, just adding bulk and weight. Who buys a slim, light phone only to put a bulky, heavy case on it? Finally, a beautiful minimalistic case for the iPhone 5 which only serves to protect! This Mod-3 Design Radius Case for the iPhone 5 is a complimentary work of art. The design compliments the phone with aluminum construction and it’s minimal weight leaves the
