These beauties are not only unconventional, they are also traditional. Take a beautifully styled Italian dress shoe and mix in some interesting, but tastefully muted colors and a bit of suede, and voila. Complete with a foot molding leather sole and a 3/4″ heel, the Italian suede leather is dyed a salvia and ras color and is completed by a perforated trim. I’m imagining the perfect outing in these shoes as a game of croquet in a polo shirt and shorts followed up by a cooling afternoon cocktail on the patio at the club. Any takers? $475 from Antonio Maurizi [ad name=”go-STIL-smbanner”]

Great for traveling, the TripIt app for Android, iPhone, iPad and Blackberry is a lifesaver. Not only does it auto import your itinerary from your email, it organizes it in an easy to read format and adds it to your calendar. Did I mention it is also FREE? It manages your travel bookings for everything from flights to dinners and even provides local maps and weather for your destinations. I have found it incredibly useful on my last trip involving multiple layovers, planes, ferries and car rentals. They also offer a TripIt Pro for those of you serious about your travel which includes flight rescheduling and custom alerts among other perks. Well worth a look! If you are a traveler

If you recall the 80’s, you must surely remember the hot running shoes of the time, Kangaroos or ‘Roos’ for short. I remembered how bad I wanted these back in the day, I mean who didn’t want a shoe with pockets? I think I used to keep a quarter in mine, but just the ability to put something in a pocket in your shoe was mind-blowing. The other day I saw my friend wearing a pair of ‘Roos’ and just about lost it as I thought they had disappeared with the 80’s. Retro style old-skool running shoes are definitely making a comeback and while the throwback New Balance shoes are cool, Kangaroos are totally unique and authentic. These were actually
Bags for men can be a bit of a hit or miss journey. It can be difficult to traverse travel bags for men by handbag and luggage designers such as Coach or Louis Vuitton, but rian has done it quite brilliantly. I must say his handbag line for women is pretty spot on too. Leather overnight or weekend bags to messenger bags, rian has managed to combine classic looks with modern style with his artistic designs and use of hardware. If you enjoy the smell and flavor of the worlds most expensive spice– saffron, then you may want to try this gin creation by Gabriel Boudier Dijon. Micro distilled in Dijon, France, this saffron infused gin had the unmistakable essence of saffron in it’s nose and on the tongue. I prefer it with soda water and a few rocks, but it can easily pair with the traditional tonic. Sadly, the color doesn’t come from the saffron alone, it also contains certified color and FD&C Yellow #5 which is a bit disappointing (check out organic gin for an all natural alternative), luckily the flavor is all real. Very mild flavor with a fairly traditional blend of botanicals, including the addition of
I’ve had mine for about 2 weeks and come home everyday to immaculate hardwood floors and freshly vacuumed bedroom carpet. Living in the city keeps things pretty dusty, and dark hardwood floors don’t help much either, but my ‘Johnny 5’ Roomba has got me covered. It can be pretty amusing to watch clean in it’s sporadic looking dance, but I prefer being surprised each time I come home. Complete with a 7 day scheduler, auto cleaning, auto brush adjustment for hardwood floors and carpet and docking, it does it all for you- just program and forget.
Being as i just moved, I’ve been spending a lot of time looking for suitable furniture. My favorites overall have been the tufted leather club chairs I have seen from Four Hands furniture. In a dark, weathered leather, these handcrafted with seven stages of staining, sealing and buffing giving it that authentic aged and weathered distressed look. Upholstered seating you would find in an upscale smoking club in Tribeca, or an ultra chic Southbeach Miami nightclub, these individually tacked nail heads create the tufts in the leather which have been antiqued with linseed oil and talc require 8-14 hours to create the finish. The three pictured are the Conrad Club Chair in Espresso leather from the Carnegie Vintage Leather collection,
A beautiful pair of casually dressy cap-toes, I love the simple, clean lines with the lightly weathered broken-in leather. Alexander McQueen designs can sometimes be a bit over the top and edgy, but these are just classic and beautiful. Available in both black and brown, these leather soled beauties are made in Italy. $670.00 from Barneys New York [ad name=”go-STIL-smbanner”]
